Your host, Jo Keers is a Physiotherapist and Clinical Pilates instructor, with over 20 years experience.
Jo has taught Clinical Pilates in Sydney, Hong Kong and now in Bellingen. She specializes in the assessment of muscle function and movement patterns that might be causing back pain. Previously a lecturer at the University of Sydney in the School of Physiotherapy, she is now developing a series of instructional DVD’s for back pain sufferers.
Jo's Physio-Pilates ‘Back to Health Program’ has evolved over the past 10 years. This program combines gentle core strengthening, gentle muscle stretching, relaxation techniques, breath control and remedial massage to restore more normal function and reduce pain.
This approach is supported by international scientific research into chronic low back pain.
You will be educated about your back and will leave with strategies for managing your back pain, a personalized exercise program and the Physio-Pilates book outlining these exercises.
The ‘Back to Health Program’ includes:
• Initial Physio-Pilates Assessment 1.5 hours
• 2 follow-up Physio-Pilates Sessions 1 hour each
• 1 gentle stretch session 1 hour
• 2 remedial/ aromatherapy massages 1 hour each
• 2 breathing/ meditation/ relaxation sessions 45 min each
• Physio-Pilates book including your personalized exercise program
• Follow-up by phone/ email to ensure progress/satisfaction
