Planning your stay

what to bring

The mid north coast of NSW is renowned for perfect climate.  Warm, sunfilled days, even in Winter, when the average daily maximum is 20 degrees celcius.  Cool crisp evenings for the majority of the year.

The extended summer means that the swimming season extends from October through until lte March, early April.  So pack you swimmers!!  Swimming in the pristine rivers can be an exhilerating experience.  However, some rubber soled thongs, water shoes or Crocs will assist on the sometimes slippery rocks.

Bush walking on the well marked tracks of the Dorrigo rainforest is a must.  Tracks vary, from the easy to the difficult. Bring your hiking boots or supportive walking shoes so that you can experience all this region has to offer.

Casual wear is the norm, unless you plan a romantic dinner at Number 2 Oak Street.

70 species of birds have been sighted in this region.  Bird watchers should come prepared for a treat.

Water sports including surfing, fishing, white water rafting and canoeing are all possible in this wonderful region.  Surfing lessons are available at Sawtell Beach, including board hire.  Canoes can be hired from Bellingen Canoe Adventures. However, enthusiasts may want to pack their own gear.

Mountain bikes and helmets are available from reception at Aniseed.

Aniseed provides mozzie coils and insect repellant for the hotter summer evenings.  Sunscreen would be a good idea in Summer.

Aniseed has endeavoured to meet all your needs.  Great care has been taken to ensure that all necessary items are stocked in your villa.  Any special needs will be met at reception to ensure that your stay is wonderful.
